The 21st annual Lumière Gala at the Brookstreet Hotel raised $124,435 for the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation, bringing its total contributions to over $1.5 million. The evening featured a high-energy performance by Rebecca Noelle and the Rebels, a rock-inspired dress code and boldly flavoured dishes with expert beverage pairings.
“It’s not only about the money that we raise, it is about the awareness that we create for the little hospital in the West End,” said Shannon Gorman, president and CEO of the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation. “We need your support, and we need you to spread the word that we’re about to launch a very large campaign to make our hospital even better.”
The event, which attracted over 400 attendees, combined a gala, concert and fundraiser into one spectacular night. “Everyone’s version of rock is a little different,” noted Nyle Kelly, executive vice-president and general manager of Brookstreet Hotel, reflecting the diverse and festive atmosphere of the soiree.
