The Ottawa Police Veterans Association (OPVA) hosted its eighth annual golf tournament on Thursday, Aug. 29, at Pine View Golf Course. The event drew more than 130 participants, including a mix of Ottawa Police Service retirees, active members and supporters, each group making up about one-third of the field.
Thursday’s event raised $15,000 for the Ottawa Cancer Foundation, the Ottawa First Responders Foundation and Cornerstone Housing for Women. Since its launch in 2016, the OPVA Golf Tournament has raised over $111,500 for local charities endorsed by the association. Additionally, more than $30,000 has been directed to the OPVA Benevolent Fund, offering support to retired members in need.
The tournament remains a vital community event, blending camaraderie with philanthropy.
