The 19th annual Raising the Roof corporate dinner, held Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Villa Marconi, raised $163,400, bringing the event’s total fundraising to over $2 million since its inception in 2005. As the largest annual fundraiser for Villa Marconi Long-Term Care Centre, Raising the Roof continues to provide vital support for essential upgrades to the facility’s aging infrastructure and equipment.

The evening also honoured John Laframboise, director of community relations at Arbor Memorial, for his decades of service to the Ottawa community. Laframboise has been involved in numerous charitable initiatives, including raising funds for palliative care and supporting local organizations such as Hospice Care Ottawa.
Event chair Maria Ricci, reflecting on the importance of the event, highlighted how Villa Marconi continues to serve the Italian-Canadian community and seniors from a variety of backgrounds. With 128 residents, the facility plays a crucial role in providing care for seniors who may face language barriers and other challenges as they age.
